Quick back story on my (Matthew Detrick) current state of BE-ing:
High School: First real track meet, coach decides to ask me to participate in the triple jump. hah. Ever watched the long jump on the Olympics or at your son or daughter’s high school track meet? Listen, triple jump is about the same with the addition of a highly syncopated hop skip and a jump. Screw up and “face, meet rubber cork” Yea, not so much fun.
Imagine with me if you will…
… Out on the football field (our track ran around the football field in high school), here I am bounding like a kangaroo cuz I really did not comprehend what our coach was attempting to teach me. So here’s my turn to jump (we got 3 attempts to make it into the sand pit) I made the kewlest smiling face you can ever imagine laughing at myself cuz I had no frickin clue what I was doing. Second attempt, same thing. One of the senior guys on the team pulls me aside and says:
“Matt, dude, you gotta make it into the pit man, we need the points”
So here’s Mattdudeman not having a frickin’ clue on how to make my feet do what the other guys were doing that looked like it was straight outta Peter Pan or something on the wings of an angel. So I stopped practicing at this point and watched what the other guys were doing, then I closed my eyes and visualized what I would look like doing the same thing while performing the motions standing in place so I could see and feel myself doing what I had to do to make it happen.
So I did my approach prep (when we meet in person, ask me to show you what I mean, it’s hilarious but every athlete has *something* they do right before they go) I start running down the runway, hit the board…
*POP*
I automagically hopped!
*BAM*
Somehow my legs worked and I skipped, the senior teammate… yea he said damn!
*BEEP BEEP*
Everything clicked and with all my might I took the leap…
…Swish, nothin’ but sand, and (wo)man did that stuff itch.
I made it because despite my current situation, I did what I had to do to make it happen.
Why did I tell you that story?
See, I made the varsity track team my freshman year (ran varsity all the years I did track) and even made freshman of the year for sheer determination to make it work. What I didn’t tell you is that I quit track my senior year to party, do drugs, and rave it up underground garage styleee.
I’ve done some amazing things in my life yet ever since quitting track my senior year of high school, I’ve seemed to stop short of making it huge. (there’s always been a gigantic desire burning inside to make big things happen)
Right now as we speak, I admit my financial situation is definitely underground. I live at home with my parents after having lived away on my own for 5 years. Am I ashamed? I was, until I realized how thankful I am my parents were willing to open their hearts to me after a couple of things that happened (namely divorce and a nervous breakdown) I was fired from my job about 4 months ago for having “entrepreneurial tendencies”
Right now as we speak I decided to take a risk to try out Mark Joyner’s 7 Day Business Turnaround Kit from Simpleology. I thought I had a business, yet really, it was a glorified hobby.

The listbuilding club makes A LOT of sense for anyone in real estate cuz when you boil it down, all you’re really doing is connecting buyers with sellers. Building a list of both automates the entire process.
I got out of real estate because I picked the wrong mentor for me at the time.
So as you see me today in the video above, I am using the 7 Day Business Turnaround Kit to launch a business. What you see here is my multimedia adventure showing you what I’m doing to build a business and NOT A FACADE!
